Boise RHPs Marcus Hatley and Israel Camacaro have been shut down for the season with arm injuries. Tommy Mejia has an arm injury too but is staying with the team in hopes of returning before the season is over. Two pitchers from the AZL are expected to join the Hawks today to replace Hatley and Camacaro.

Any chance these games actually get played?

Probably. They are about to get under way in the first Daytona game and it's not raining.

Fly out, ground out, pop out.

Jay's day should be over: 5 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 3 GO-9 FO.

How many days has been in between starts for Jay? Rough outing for him still looks pretty decent considering what the team has dealt with especially.

Righties Manolin De Leon and Cedric Redmond (where are you, Ping? :D ) are the ones called up to Boise.

(I'd like to pat myself on the back for guessing those two despite not posting it.)

Woo, Josh Vitters with an IF single to break an 0 for 7 streak!

ETA: Damn, somehow ruled an error.

ETA Part 2: Dan McDaniel was hitting 95 consistently his last time out.

kyler burke seems to be turning it around! I have to say I've been excited about him ever since the trade. Hes got so much talent and hes still so young that he should still have a huge potential if he can get his average up.

We went to the I-Cubs game last night.

Pie played brilliant defense and hit the ball hard every time we saw him bat. He still cannot run bases worth a crap though.

Based on the caught stealing or other Theriot-like stupidity? It's pretty disappointing that after multiple years of working on it, he doesn't seem to have translated that speed to baserunning ability.

It was a CS. He hit a single against a LHP (great!). This guy had a terrible move to first and threw over at least 4 or 5 times. Pie should have been able to read his move and get a good lead. Instead he didn't seem to get a secondary at all after the ball was thrown. He waits for Haufpaiur to strike out and then goes on the second pitch to Craig. He was out by a good margin.

bring pie up, let him hit and tell him never to try and steal a base. He's never going to be an 80% guy, so who cares?

it's another thing if he's just a bad baserunner (he might be), but if his speed translates in terms of home to first or first to third, i'd be just as happy if he never attempted a steal in his life.

if he's just a murton-like baserunner though, that's a problem.
