I'm so sick of Lou.

Sick of Lou? That's misplaced; Blame Z. Most managers would have done exactly what he did when one of the top of the rotation starters is pitching. Zambrano gave up 6 ERs

No it's not misplaced. Z had nothing, Lou left him in. I don't care what most managers would do. Z shouldn't have been left in a position where he could give up 6ER.

Had nothing? He was a ground ball away from possibly turning a DP and that is something managers consider. Z just didn't get it done. Can't just run to the bullpen at the first sign of trouble early in the game. Plus, the Cubs don't have an off day for 8 more games (with tougher competition awaiting).

Ah yes, just a ground-ball away. If one of those liners would've turned into a ground ball, we would've been golden. The pen is rested and he should've gone to it. He stuck with his starter too long. We'll have some pen re-enforcement in 5 or 6 days.

Nice job by Cotts. Let's crank up the bats. Again.

These Bob & Tom commercials on WGN America are really obnoxious. Maybe even more obnoxious than their stupid damn radio show.

Except that was about the 19th sign of trouble

Don't just quote part of at I said. It was 4 1/3 innings when Z was lifted. Lou has many reasons for not wanting to take him out, least of which is getting Zambrano a win. Next off day is 9/4, Marquis is pitching tomorrow, and we go home to play the Phillies next...

So Cotts gets the next inning?

Yes. He should have the first 4 batters. If it gets beyond that, they'd start to consider changing pitchers.

The bullpen shouldn't have too much of a problem. If Cotts gets through the 6th, that leaves Gaudin, Marmol, and Wood for the last 3 innings, and then Marshall if it goes beyond that. Or they can ask one pitcher to go longer and give another one the night off.

I flipped back to the game while playing MLB Power Pros to see the ball land in the seats :D
