When was our last homer? I can't remember?

Blanco on Saturday night.

Oh yeah...I forgot about that one.

Soriano's going yard today.

hahaha i just saw last night's game thread

pure comedy... loved abuck's "toilet of the internet" comment...

There was some overreacting last night, sure, but there was far more overreacting to the overreacting.

This game will determine to me whether we are in a team offensive slump. Hasn't looked too great lately. Maybe I'm just spoiled because I know people will point out the 3 run inning Friday, 8 run inning Sunday and the 4 run inning Monday, but outside of those the Cubs have scored 7 runs in the other 42 innings. Meh, even if we are in a slump, I still think we are in the driver's seat.

Did you really just try and show the team was slumping over the past 5 games by removing the 3 highest scoring innings from those games?

I didn't say they were in a slump, I said they could be slumping, and with a horrible pitcher going today we should be able to tell. I know that was a completely faulty argument, I couldn't find a better way to express my gut feeling (which being a pessimist I should probably never rely on).

In the admittedly small 5 game sample size I am referring to the team is hitting .239 .356 .377 .733. The ability to be patient is what separates us from other offenses (because all teams have peaks and valleys) which is why we've been able to have a couple of big innings to mask a potential slump.

Just like with the Pirates, Astros, and Marlins series, the offense gets to take 1 day off as long as they dominate the other 2.

Does anyone have statistics regarding the wind direction at Wrigley historically. It seems like the last 2 years have had an amazingly high number of 'wind blowing in' days. It could be part of the reason why our big HR hitters have seen a dip in HRs the last 2 years.

Never seen hard stats, but have heard it mentioned that it blows in about twice as much as it blows out.

At times Arroyo can be effective last night happened to be one of those times Fogg, on the other hand, should have no chance. If the Cubs don't get to him, I'd say they're slumping rather than it being a case of bad pitcher having a good start.

Or it could be because they all had to stop taking 'roids and HGH.

Just a thought.

ARam and Jimmy are def. going yard.

Basically what I was trying to say, but I had a bad approach to the argument.

Bold prediction(s) for today's game of the week

1. D-Lee - Yard (Twice)

2. oh yeah I am going to exercise the optional s.

3. Theriot - Yard (No, really)

4. Baker gets his toothpick caught between his cheeks and needs to be rushed to the hospital.

5. Zambrano will sweat a lot and grab his crotch.

6. Len and Bob say will confess their love for each other, albeit in a platonic way.

I don't think I would like this. I like it when he ruining a division rival.
