Thanks to everyone here for making this thread a huge step up from yesterday's debacle.

The offense has me a bit concerned, but a win is a win. :D

It's just a slump, as I said on page one when everyone laughed at me. We'll be fine.

strange times indeed, when UMFan is acting as the voice of reason.

People laughed at you because you arbitrarily removed about 11 runs of production from a 5 game span to justify calling it a slump.

I hate to say it but I'm not feeling good about this game.

What does that even mean?

Meaning I thought we were going to blow it. CUBS WIN!!!!

Glad my feelings where ill-advised!

I knew what you meant, just don't understand why.

You don't understand why with a 1 run lead we could conceivably blow the game?

I know very well Mr. Wood could blow a game with a 1 run lead. But couldn't it be said that with every game with a 1, or even 2 run lead that you don't have a good feeling?

Did Lou really just say that he and Mark O'Neal went out to check on Z because of a cracked molar?

It could. This was a odd conversation.

No people still we're laughing at me after I justified my gut feeling by showing the Cubs were battling like .233 with a sub .300 SLG during that same time frame.

If were going to be in a mini slump, better it be with a team thats been in a slump for the past 10 years coming to town than when we face the Brewers or Cards.

People only like the stats that are pleasing to them.

I don't think it's that the Cubs are magically hitting well on the road and poorly at home, just as I don't think the Cubs were hitting magically well at home and poorly on the road earlier in the year.

The Cubs are simply a solid hitting team that coincidentally had rough stretches on the road early and at home of late.

Yup, like taking out a bunch of runs and then saying the offense is struggling because they don't score much outside of those runs. Which *is* what we were laughing at you about, UMF.

It was a dumb argument get over it. I make tons of good arguments every week and I make one faulty one that I rushed to express a gut feeling and you openly mock me throughout the game thread?
