The showed the power rankings (Cubs 1st and Angels 2nd)

...one of the idiots said "Have the voters been watching the way the Angels are playing lately"

Dari Nokah or whatever his name is then said "Cubs nation making their voices heard" or something like that.

The third idiot responded with "Don't drink and vote".

Didn't somebody start a rant a while back about the term "Nation" being used in reference to fanbases of a particular team? It is so incredibly lame. :x

Did anybody notice that 98 run difference in run differential? I think that makes up for that whopping 1 game difference in overall record.

Dude, it's about wins and losses, not statistics.

I think playing in the AL helps ALOT. The AL is head and shoulders above the NL.

is that why most of the best players play in the NL? Interleague records aren't a good measure of which league is better IMO

False.

I'm not a big watcher of ESPN anymore but do they really let the fans vote for power rankings? I would tend to think the poll would lose all credibility then...you know, just like ESPN.

Of the really good teams in the AL besides the Angels (Rays, Red Sox, Twins and White Sox - if you want to call the last two really good), the Angels probably play 24-30 games against them, as opposed to like 60 against Oakland, Seattle and Texas.

And the Cubs play the Astros, Pirates and Reds. And the entire NL West, and the Braves and Nats.

Entire NL West: 33 games

Braves and Nats: 12

Mets, Marlins, Phillies, Brewers, Cardinals: 50+

Division means more than league.

If Oakland, Seattle and Texas were in the NL they would have a better record, belive that.

i really don't understand why people don't get the difference between the al and nl, with the al being "better"

the big market teams can spend upwards of 10-15 mil a year for a DH while the nl is throwing out a pitcher to bat. wtf. if the nl had something as lame as a dh there would be no difference.

you can't tell me that david ortiz is obviously a huge upgrade over ted lilly in a batting lineup.

how in the hell can one half of the teams in a major sport have a rule that the other half don't? the nfc doesn't get to kick off from the 5 yard line as opposed to the afc kicking off from the 40, do they? i get so heated off this. maybe i'm drunk, but forget all that. bud selig needs to check hisself before he wrecks himself. maybe all the teams west of the missouri should have free throws count as three points with mark jackson as a rotating penalty shooter, while all teams east shoot free throws from half court with charles in charge shooting the shots for those teams. maybe elephants shoudl stop eating peanuts and switch to cotton candy and salt water taffy while humans eat their doo doo. what if that was the zoo's rules? no one would go for that crap. you got to be kidding me!

Wow you are a little drunk, but I agree with what your trying to say, it really makes no sense. And thats a big reason why the AL is the stronger league. I hate the DH. And with it, its hard to compare the leagues, it changes the game.

If they were in the West, sure. In the East, probably. In the Central? I doubt it. Houston is better than any of them, let alone the top 3 teams.

This is good stuff. I don't understand what it means, but it's good stuff.

The difference between the AL and NL isn't nearly as big as years past. The Red Sox aren't nearly what they've been, the Yankees are mediocre, the White Sox are nothing special, the Twins are the Cardinals of the AL, and the Angels and Devil Rays have great pitching but a weak offense. They don't have the powerhouses that they've had in years past.
