I'm so happy that the pissing match is between the SEC and Pac-10 this year.

There is no pissing match. Historically the SEC has handled their business against all comers in football. Pac 10 didn't become relevent again, until USC started to win.

Legit question, not trying to sound obxious but......if UCLA had to play either Florida, GA, or perhaps even LSU (and to a lesser degree either Alabama (and not a Alabama probation team they did a few yrs ago, but THIS YEARS Bama), and Auburn you think UCLA would have won? Prolly not. I know for a fact LSU/GA/Florida would have stomped UCLA (and chances are one of those three could and should beat USC---on the flip USC could and should beat any SEC team) into the ground. Sorry dew, but Tennessee was one SEC team I thought was severely overrated. And I don't know if people in non-SEC schools know this, but Vols fans are more the ready to send that rat fink on a bus ticket out Tennessee any day now. I'm not going to diminish UCLA's victory, and it was a great win for the Bruins, but on the flip side they did survive the game at home. So, it came to no surprise they beat Tennessee in UCLA, as they should.

As for any "pissing match", there isn't one. Until the Pac 10 has more then one legit NT contender, they are just another wannabe contender to the best conference in football. With that said, event ho they are not in SEC class, I still ranked the Big 10, heck even the Big 12 ahead the Pac 10 in overall conference strentgh.

you are everything I hate about SEC football fans

try living in this neck of the woods...i want to stab everyone around me during football season.

1) Until Dennis Dixon got hurt last year, the Pac 10 had 2 legitimate and one borderline BCS team.

2) The Pac 10 is unquestionably better than the Big 10.

3) It may not be able to match Oklahoma, Mizzou, Texas and Texas Tech at the top, but USC, Arizona State, Oregon, Cal and maybe UCLA isnt' anything to sneeze at.

Sure, the projected borderline top 50 team beat a consensus top 20 team, but they never would beat a consensus top 10 team. And that proves how dominant the SEC is!

I just like how I made an offhand comment about the sniping between SEC and Pac-10 fans resulted in a full blown, multi-paragraph resume of the SEC's dominance of the universe.

About the only thing I will agree with is UCLA would be killed by Florida/Georgia/LSU (let's not get way too excited about Alabama just yet...Clemson is one of those teams that are always a smidge overrated). Oh yeah, I'll agree the Pac 10 has only one national championship contender while the SEC has two this season.

I'll savor the hell out of last night no matter what anyone says. Stuff like that has been few and far between for UCLA football fans in recent years.

:D

And 26th in the coaches'. I'll enjoy being ranked while I can for these next 2 weeks.

Wow at Illinois somehow being the only ranked team to lose and stay ranked in both polls. Did they really look good in defeat? I suppose they did wake up somewhat in the second half.

Bowls all(with a few exceptions) take place in SEC territory. There's certainly no advantage for the SEC there.

Doubt there is much demand and appeal to playing in Big Ten territory in January.

I would gladly attend a bowl game in the north in January.

I'm happy for you and jealous raisin. Robinson couldn't out coach a tackling dummy.

Yeah, I'm really happy and thankful. I know a thing or two about horrible coaches.

I know it's the football thread, but I still thought Lavin was gonna make an appearance there.

I tried to stay on topic. Plus seeing pictures of Steve Lavin makes me want to kill puppies.
