i'm looking forward to mizzou-oklahoma. it'll be interesting to see of mizzou can take them this year; they certainly have the talent to do so IMO.

Well it'll be awhile. They wouldn't play until the Big 12 Championship.

yeah i think mizzou is a shoo-in for that, but i guess texas or even texas tech could keep oklahoma out.

when juice hit judson at the 20 yard line when we were down by ten, i'm sure there were some missourian hearts beating fast. you can't tell me you weren't thinking "not again".

we had a bad defensive game, and that will happen against missouri's offense. but, i think the score was about as accurate as it gets.

If the closest moment in the second half is Illinois getting to the edge of the red zone down 2 scores, then immediately getting sacked and throwing a pick, I think that answers the question.

Wow, just looked through the Big 10 schedules. Wisconsin plays the other 3 good Big 10 teams, but they're all at home. I have a hard time seeing them losing a game besides OSU or maybe at MSU(who I think will be much improved) They might get to be the Big 10 team that plays a road game on January 8th this year.

I'm putting Illinois at 8-4 on the year, but wouldn't be shocked to see them as good as 10-2. I think OSU and Wisconsin are clearly better, with Penn St. about equal, and after that there's not much there in the Big 10. I guess you've got IU, MSU, Purdue and UM all grouped together around the 7-5/6-6 level with Iowa and Northwestern a notch below them trying to sneak into a bowl. And Minnesota coming up in the rear at about 2-10.

so you weren't nervous at all, then. that certainly answers it.

i dunno if wisconsin is clearly better. i really like their team except for their qb, and that's only the most important position on the field. they're gonna struggle with teams that don't let them run at will.

It's the same story year in, year out. The Badgers will have a strong running game, good offensive line, good receivers, capable at the least defense, and a QB who is mediocre at best.

If they ever got a good QB, they'd be a yearly national title contender.

Yeah, but I don't like Penn State's QB either, and Wisconsin definitely has the better supporting cast after that.

wut? i thought we were comparing wisconsin and illinois.

Ah, I had Wisconsin and OSU as clearly better with PSU on the same level as Illinois, I figured you were taking the Penn State angle. I know I shouldn't make such rash judgments off of 1 game, but the defensive effort yesterday scares me. I know Missouri has a great offense, but I woulda thought you were nuts if you told me they were gonna put up 52 on us. The defensive difference is where I give it to Wisky.

oh and btw, TT, i thought juice wasn't a qb and couldn't throw the ball.

He's much better at throwing the ball to receivers that have no one around them for 15 yards in any direction than I thought.

Seriously though, he did a fine job after a slow start accuracy wise. He would've been the hero of the game if he didn't have to make up a 4 TD deficit in 20 minutes. Related to that deficit, I was very happy with how Mizzou's O-Line did against that U of I front seven. Daniel's only sack was on a roll out, he wasn't evading sacks the whole game, and they did a nice job blocking for Washington.

Who was Davis covering the whole night? I saw the nice deflection on the one sideline ball to Perry, but didn't notice him in particular(although I had no idea it was Saunders that caught the 3rd quarter TDs, to give you an idea of my seats) aside from that.

well, the illini's best d-lineman didn't play and vontae was out i think half the game.

With an injury? I must've missed that.

Yeah, I was in a bar, so I didn't really get what happened or if he ever came back, but he definitely went back to the locker room in the 2nd half. I didn't see anybody mention it in this thread, so I thought he musta came back.

Yeah he came back in the 4th because he made a nice pass deflection when Illinois was trying to come back.

I never know when the next poll comes out after week 1 since games are always going on all week(end). Is it coming out tonight, tomorrow, Tuesday...?

Sooo true. Their Qb is always solid but yet doesnt have it to win multiple games by himself. Perenially underated football program, probably because they dont have ooh and ahhs when it comes to recruits out of HS, thats the only thing i can think of why they dont get more attention than they deserve. IF they can land a highly rated HS pro style Qb they might really have something, dude would probably have to hail from WI but hey they might land some guy who wants to start as a fresh.

this kentucky-louisville game is horrendous.

EDIT - until the kentucky fatty ran a long return back for a touchdown. Best play in football!

Don't hate on my cats.

6-6 here we come. They had a bad '08 recruiting class, luckily '09 is looking much better.

What's his status? He's a stud.

And thanks, Mizzou fans. I drafted Washington on your recommendation. What a fantastic value that will be in like the 17th round.

Losing Curtis Pulley really hurt, in my opinion. I honestly don't know a lot about Hartline, but I've always thought Pulley was pretty good. Am I out of line there?

I'm pulling for Randall Cobb, by the way. I watched him absolutely run over one of the HS teams I cover for two years while at Alcoa and it'd be nice to see him do well in college (just not against Tennessee  ).
