I love how this team's one obvious weakness (winning on the road) is being exposed as a fluke. This team should be able to beat anybody, anywhere.

espn.com says this is the 10th straight road win... that's incorrect, right?

9th.

I guess the Cubs aren't cursed at Pro Player or whatever they call it now. :D

I was nervous in the 9th just getting text updates of what was happening!

Ward hit a BOMB!!!! :yahoo:

It's honestly really making a case for my favorite homer of the year. thing of beauty.

raisin, any chance the royals sign hosmer?

Sorry, I left from work and didn't see this till now.

I think he will sign in the end but way over slot ($4M); it seems like Crow and Dykstra are the most likely not to. Remember last year...at the last moment Moustakas and Wieters signed. Of course it's just a guess.

Only 1.5 hours to go...

Even if we win this game I hate it... I hate this game..

OK, I lied... that was one way to end it where I'd love it.

So, the Cubs only have to go .500 [20-20] the rest of the way to finish with 95 wins... definitely doable! =D>

Wow, so then 25-15 for 100 wins... that's very possible.

I asked this earlier, but I guess it got overlooked... why didn't Fukudome start tonight? I figure with a lefty on the mound and with Dome finally starting to bust out of his funk, tonight would be a terrible time to sit him.

Wow, I just got in, listened to the game but was unpacking during the 9th ... Ward hit a BOMB!!!! :yahoo:

Got back to game late but, finally, the Cubs beat these $%#!@#, looks like Z recovered nicely after throwing BP for a couple of innings. Not to mention another strong performance by arguably the best bullpen in the NL.

Watched the video on Gameday. It's the Marlins' broadcast. What a call.

"Drive to right field...AND DEEP........gone..........and so is the Marlins lead."

75-47. It just rolls off the tongue.

And if my math is correct the Cubs should be one game off their

Pythagorean. In other words, the Cubs are really this good, and they don't rely on luck to be good. It doesn't hurt to have some luck, but unlike the Angels this yr and DBacks last yr, we don't rely on it.

Wait a minute... wtf? I leave at the 8th, thinking (well it's over)

Soapdropping incredible!

So I went to see Tropic Thunder this evening, awesome movie by the way. When I went into the theatre, we were down 5-3, and toward the end of the movie, I almost jumped out of my seat when I checked the score on my phone and saw we pulled it out. It wasnt until just now that I found out it was off a Daryle Ward homer though.

Pulling it out in a theater is how PeeWee Herman got in trouble.

Wow, this is bush league:

The Cubs had lost their last 10 games in the Sunshine State, including a three-game series this year in Tampa Bay, and had not won a game in Florida since July 10, 2005. The folks at Dolphin Stadium decided to poke fun at the Cubs, and added a goat and a black and white photo of the 1908 team behind the players' images on the scoreboard.

They've been in existence for 16 years and have already matched us for all-time World Series victories.

The Cubs' current win pct is .615, which, when applied to the 40 games remaining, has them on pace to win 24.6 of them. I prefer to round to the closest whole number.

At the end of play on August 15th, 2008, the Chicago Cubs are on pace to win 100 games... :pig: :pig: :pig:
