Shafer: 2 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K. The curve looked good. The 2 runs were unearned because of an error by Ryan Flaherty. His curve looked nice.

So...you're saying you liked his curveball tonight?

I was at the Iowa Cubs game tonight and Wells looked really good. I don't anything about him but he struck out the first 4 or 5 guys he faced. Dubois' 2 homers were no doubters to center and when your center field is 400 feet with a tall fence that is impressive. I was impressed by the AAA team and didn't realize how good of a hitting team that they have. The only thing that sucked about tonight was Kevin Hart. He made one good pitch to end the game. The other two outs were a rocket to center and what would have been the tying run was gunned down at the plate on a double.

Let's keep cool about Mr. Jackson, he could be the Cub version of Tom Mendoza or the Cub pitcher version of Mitch Einertson, two guys who looked like world beaters in the year they were drafted and promptly crapped out.

no way, badnews looking at something in a negative light? first time for everything.

That was unnecessarily rude. You don't have to agree but I don't see the point in showing people up on a message board.

I'm just saying I've seen these mid-round selections come out looking awesome the year they were drafted in the past and then fade away.

No one even made any projections about him or anything like that. It's okay to be happy when a Cubs player or farmhand does well.

I think he was just making a little good fun out of the irony of the post and your name, not you individually...

How well did Friday go for the Cubs? Even Ryan Harvey had a hit

Nope, he was talking about badnews hasn't a good thing to say about a Cubs prospect since Pat Cline.

I prefer to go back to the Earl Cunningham era myself.

I remember when Cubs fans were excited over drafting Ty Griffin and Cunningham in (I believe) consecutive years. Griffin was going to eventually be Sandberg's replacement. Oops.

Not true. I was a big proponent of Gallagher being too valuable to throw in there with 3 or 4 other guys. I had a lot of good things to say about Gallagher. Heck, I asked why couldn't he be the next Fausto Carmona.

Badnews is either the most unlikeable person in the world or one hell of a dedicated troll

Or maybe I'm just a person with different opinions from yours. This is what I regard as unnecessary and tiresome on message boards. Go through my post history, I don't take potshots like this at people.

I don't understand why people can't disagree without bringing some personal attack into the equation. I can't just have opinions about baseball you don't care for, it has to way beyond that.
