He won't be here next year so that's not an issue.

 

you're so sure that Hendry won't be duped into a 4 year deal based on this season?

 

i'd rather make a run at one of the brewers' aces.

With the way Yost will push Sabathia for the last 3 months of this season, I don't know if I would give him 16-18 mil a year. He's a major arm injury waiting to happen.

We're talking Hendry here though, he likes to reward players when they don't deserve it (Neifi, Blanco), imagine what he'll offer to someone who is actually good

 

Seems kind of silly to be comparing what Demp has done to anything Blanco and Neifi have done.

 

I'm not comparing them. My point was that Hendry gave multi-year extensions to guys who sucked, so what is he going to offer to someone who actually had a good year

Ok, I followed the 2004 season from start to finish, but I HAVE NO IDEA WHO JIMMY ANDERSON IS.

 

He was a member of the scrub trio the Cubs had to bring up midseason (SS Rey Ordonez and OF Dave Kelton were the other two).

and then theres good old Damian Jackson. I remember Calvin Murray, but not him playing on the big league team. Im surprised Trenidad Hubbard never got a call up.

He did, in 2003.

 

Demp going back out? Yikes...

 

I know we're not doing too bad, but I hope these runners we keep leaving on base don't come back to haunt us.
