Guillen demands out of KC

Per ESPN News. Says he is on non-speaking terms with the manager, the team hasn't came through with their "promises", and described the clubhouse as hell. IIRC, he's having a pretty good year but is in a 3/36 deal (I think). Really not a concrete spot for him on this club but if his value is low due to the demand, he would be a very nice bat. While I'm not a big worrier about clubhouse cancer, with this guy, I'm starting to think the baggage doesn't warrnat the production you get from him.

If he would be willing to be on a winning team and be a bat off the bench and not be a cancer if he wasnt starting....And yes thats alot to ask for.....I'd take him in a second for our fourth outfielder

Waiting for Coach C to chime in on this. I had thought that Guillen was getting along well with Hillman and the Royals. Guess not. Good thing they brought him in to be around Butler and Gordon to teach them how to be professionals.

I'd rather not be the stereotypical "message board name dropper." That wasn't my intent with the post.

 

I have worked in baseball (not currently) for a couple magazines and worked for a minor league team. Guillen was not a treat to be around. There really isn't much more to be said honestly.

FWIW, he has denied it. Not sure I am willing to believe an unnamed source on espndeportes.com

Prior to nine months ago, I couldn't...I didn't want to lose my job. I have come clean as to exactly where I got my info rather recently. I post what I know and I get told I am condescending, etc. So interesting to see what happens to our fair friend who states he worked for a baseball magazine or what not.
