I imagine some roster shuffling will be occurring once the league office gets ahold of all the videotape from yesterday.

I heard the Chiefs have signed Nancy Lieberman to a 7 day contract.

That was Joe Lieberman. And Billy Crystal was told to wait by the phone.

I heard that Garth Brooks has his batting gloves all washed and ironed...

Transactions:

RHP Greg Reinhard was demoted from Iowa to Tennessee.

LHP Darin Downs was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays for a PTBNL.

RHP Casey Coleman, RHP John Muller and 2B Josh Harrison have been called up from Boise to Peoria. Harrison is probably up to replace the injured Gian Guzman and Muller to replace the promoted Jordan Latham. Coleman, on the other hand, is probably a brawl-related promotion to replace Julio Castillo. Boise will hear later today on who will be called up (I'd guess Shafer will be called up; maybe Cedric Redmond too).

On the injury front:

Tennessee's 3B Josh Lansford is day-to-day after taking a grounder to the wrist.

2B Gian Guzman left Peoria's game a few batters before the brawl with a broken leg after colliding with Julio Castillo (Castillo really caused some damage yesterday) and was placed on the 7-day DL today.

In Boise: OF Drew Rundle left Wednesday's game with a strained hamstring and is expected to miss a game or two. SS Ryan Flaherty - who was in Boise's lineup on Wednesday after missing 10 games with an injured left hand but was out again on Thursday - is expected to start today and tomorrow according to Boise manager Tom Beyers. Beyers also said that 3B Josh Vitters who has missed 6 games already with an injured ankle is expected to miss about 4 more. :(

Time for Michael Jordan to resume his minor league career.

Beat out a bunt for a single in his first AB too.

It'll be nice having some interesting players moving up into Peoria now...

3 scoreless for Hernandez, 2 scoreless for Carrillo and 1 scoreless for Veal.

I likely jinxed all 3.

Still too many base runners being allowed by Veal.

Marco Carrillo threw 6.1 no-hit innings before giving up an infield single to second base. That was the only hit he gave up in 8. Blake Parker is coming in to pitch the 9th and try to get the save in a 1-0 game. Apparently the hit could easily have been ruled an error on Mota too.

ETA: And Parker blows it. Daytona loses 2-1.

Robert Hernandez: 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K :)

But Zach Ashwood gave up 3 in the 8th and Dayton wins it 3-2.

There seems to be a theme developing tonight.

What do Bob Howry, Blake Parker and Zach Ashwood have in common? :(

3B Josh Vitters who has missed 6 games already with an injured ankle is expected to miss about 4 more. :(

Darn, those are the next 4 in my back yard! I was going to go just for Vitters :(
