At least one of them is losing.

Too bad it's the wrong team that's doing the losing.

If there ever were a time for Cards pixie dust, now would be it.

I would argue that we should be cheering for the Brewers. While the Brewers are threatening to take our division lead, at least with them winning, and presumably knocking the Cardinals back, it becomes a 2 team race instead of a 3 team race.

That statement is filled with hope and certainty that this current Cubs streak is just a fluky aberration. If not, it will very quickly turn into a 3-team race from the Cubs' POV.

Word is Larussa might throw at one of the brewers players(hall) tonight. Might be worth watching just for that.

Why?

I'm going to go with "because LaRussa is a deranged, hypocritical idiot when it comes to beanball matters".

The last two nights, hall has hit a HR to win the game. Apparently on both nights, he spit in the direction of the STL bench. I didn't see it, but i guess it happened. Is that worth a hit? I donno.

EDIT: just found this link talking about it.

Well, that's bound to happen when you jam as much chew into your mouth as Hall does. Serves the Cards right for not have a spitoon positioned outside the batter's box.

I wouldn't be surprised if LaRussa did have something planned, though -- if not for the Hall thing, then for the incident at the end of last year where Yost brought in McClung for the sole purpose of throwing at Albert Pujols...I don't remember if the Cards ever "retaliated" for that.

Beanball wars are incredibly stupid, but if LaRussa wants to risk Looper getting thrown out of the game early, then he can certainly be my guest, especially with the way the Brewers have been hitting the Cards' bullpen in this series.

I'm hoping a brawl ensues with mass suspensions for both teams, after they have played 25 innings......

I added that last part.

Why couldnt I have been born a White Sox fan. Are these guys ever really out of it? A few minutes ago, they were going into the bottom of the 8th down 8-4, then I check the score and there up 10-8. They really seem to be back to 2005 form.

I ask my self the same question. "Why am i a Cub fan? And Why am i rooting for such a utterly dissapointing team?" I don't got any answers for either.

Yeah I really wish we had a team that had a long string of come from behind late inning victories.

Oh wait....

So my MLBTV is trying to make me pay for a premium upgrade I already bought, so I guess I'm not watching the Cards/Brewers tonight.

Or maybe it works after a logout/login. Weirdness.
