I also live in Iowa (North Central part where we get FSN-North so we have the Twins), and have satellite tv for CSN/WGN.

No MLB EI or anything like that though since the Cubs are in the viewing area.

Extra Innings (through DirecTV), with Gameday for the games blacked out on EI (i.e. Saturday afternoon games) or day games when I'm at work.

Extra Innings for the night and weekend games. Usually follow the game thread and use ESPN GameCast or whatever it's called during day games.

this was the first year in however long that i didn't buy mlb.tv

but then the harden trade happened and his first start wasn't on wgn and i was forced to rethink things

Oops, I said extra innings, but I meant MLB.tv. However, that's only when I'm home and can watch it. At work, I'm forced to gamecast it quite a bit or check game threads here.

I would purchase EI but my cable provider doesn't offer it, so I'm "stuck" with mlb.tv. Although, this year I've been fairly pleased with their service.

I don't know how I follow most games.

I follow weekday games on XM radio and mlb's gamecast, although I'll DVR some of them from extra innings if something about the matchup is particularly interesting. I watch most weekday night games on extra innings, sometimes DVRd and watched in fast forward. I follow a lot of games on my blackberry or phone if I'm away, especially weekend games when I'm out and about. And I've already seen 6 games in person this year and will be seeing 4-6 more.

I guess the most frequest way would be via extra innings.

I watch on Extra Innings for most games not on WGN. Sometimes, I listen to XM if I'm not able to be around my TV. When I'm away from both of those options, I'll try to follow via game day or game day audio.

Would telepathy be considered "Other"?

If that fails and I cannot watch the game or listen on the radio, I check online sources like nsbb, espn, mlb or yahoo.
