Does anyone know what package MLB Network is a part of for Comcast cable in Chicago (suburbs)? I see it on my digital cable, but it says it's not authorized.

 

I don't get it in Rockford either and I don't get it, as I was of the understanding that it was supposed to be included in the basic package. Anyone have any answers regarding this?

according to mlbnetwork.com, here's the info for Rockford (61108):

 

MLB Network is available in your area by subscribing to the following providers:

 

DirecTV 213 & 213 (HD)

Insight Communications 516

 

That said, it is part of the "basic" package I have here in Peoria with Comcast (it's not part of some special sports or HD package) BUT you still have to have a digital cable box to receive, I'd bet.

Yeah I think MLB Tonight (? i think that's what it's called) is going to be the strength of the network. The only real problem I noticed is that the live look ins that I saw when I was watching, never seemed to happen at a good time and nothing interesting was going on.

I think they trade off 2 hour shifts, as they can't do 6-8 hours at a time. Not sure if it's 2 teams each taking 2 shifts or what, but it seems to be working pretty well. Just saw part of the 1 hour wrap-up show yesterday morning when getting ready for work, so think that's new. Am definitely liking it better than sportscenter or bbtn.
