Small sample size alert!

Murton went 1-for-12 in his first three games with the River Cats but has a line of 0.306/0.359/0.583/0.942 since then in eight games and 36 AB's, including five doubles, a triple and a homer. He has at least hit in seven of the eight games.

And something that doesn't involve sample size, he's a pretty nice guy as well.

How many times have you encountered his niceness?

no idea where oakland's AAA club is, but if it's west coast, he probably staffed a game or two for them.

anyway, induct murton into the aaa hall of fame.

You've only met him twice? That sounds like a small sample size... ;)

Also, Patterson 1-4 and batting .148, Murton sent to minors and Gallagher getting hammered, Beane has to feel pretty bad about this deal. I guess the players are still young and the minor league catcher is yet to be factored in.

I loved the trade, but that doesn't mean that I now hate the players traded. never cared much either way about patterson or murton, but rooting for them to fail because they got traded seems stupid.

Donaldson with a 1048 OPS at high A so far

IMO he and Gally were the keys to the trade.

Yeah, to me, this trade was all about Donaldson and Gallagher. Murt and Epatt's defense would always be a limiting factor to how valuable they would be to a contending ML team.

I would hope that nobody is rooting against these kids.

From the guy who can't wait to run over to NSBB and update everyone on Murton's, Patterson's, and Gallagher's struggles, that's rich.

well, I would be more than happy to report on their successes when they occur. Why the personal shot, Brusstar? Who pee'd in your proverbial Cherios?

All he seems to be doing is reporting on how they are doing. He can't make them be successful.

He didn't provide game-by-game updates on Gallagher during his first four starts. We did hear all about Murton's struggles during that time frame. And Patterson's. The first peep we heard from Pman about Gallagher was after he started struggling -- and all of sudden Peoriaman was all over him too.

Excuse me if I think his suggestion that he "would hope that nobody is rooting against these kids" is disingenous.

Really? Why is this thread missing posts from you regarding Gallagher's first four starts?

This has been going on for months. He's always ready to root for certain guys, like Murton, if they would only ever give him something to be positive about. And though he wishes them nothing but the best, he's been here, for more than a month, to tell us all how bad these guys are doing with a team in a different league (or AAA). B/c none of us have access to game logs on the many sites that report on this information if we care to follow these guys.

actually, I did comment on Gallagher's 1st few starts.

Again, I can't make them succesful. Unfortunately, neither Murton or EPatt have had any big days to report on.

I know you can read my mind, but I hope they are successful. Especially Murton, who seems like a great guy with a great attitude.
