Another good start for Gallagher as well.

5 innings, 2 runs, 98 pitches, 4 wallks, 7 K's, 7 hits. Now out of game.

Not a quality start by definition, but not bad. He may not get the loss if the A's can put a run on the board.

(WE'VE) MADE A HUGE MISTAKE

You are [expletive].

I hope you are kidding...

whether he's kidding or not...he's still [expletive].

That's not nice Oscar.

lol, Oscar. You, sir, are the "[expletive]" one.

11 baserunners in 5 innings is not a good start.

For some reason I thought he went eight innings. No idea why.

I was listening to the middle innings of the Yankees radio broadcast while driving around, and they must have mentioned about 25 times how, in the 2nd inning, after the Yankees had scored 2 and had runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs, Gallagher k'd Jeter, Abreu and A-Rod to get out of it. They were so appalled it was fantastic to hear!

only 2 runs in 5 innings is

you're really a hard person to please if you expect better from a 21 year old rookie pitcher than a 3.60 ERA facing the Yankees

Its amazing to read the posts that folks leave about games and you wonder if they listened to the game or just looked at the "boxscore". It was great to watch Sean pitch today in "Yankee Stadium" and I will admit that his control was off. To just give up 2 runs with all the runners left in scoring position I thought he did "Great". I can't imagine what Sean must have felt when Derek Jeter stepped into the batters box to begin the game. Then to face that line-up and K Arod twice was special moment and to K the side in the 2nd to get out of trouble, Jeter, Abreu and then Arod doesn't get any sweeter than that. I have to say that Seans stuff was nasty today and especially his offspeed pitches.

Sean wasn't scheduled to pitch until monday in Tampa but with the Blanton trade and then Dusc getting sick their rotation was all a mess. It had to be tough getting yourself ready for a start monday and then being asked to throw Sat. Again it was a special moment watching your Son throw at Yankee stadium with all that history and thought Sean did "Great".ttyl

Where have you been anyway?

I was following this one, as I've been a big fan of Sean's, I live about a mile from Yankee Stadium, and my roommate is a huge Yankees fan. Sean acquitted himself well and got out of some jams. Still pulling for him. Respect.

I watched that game on MLB.com and was happy to see Sean do so well against the Yankees. He handled those big bats quite well, although you could tell he was a bit nervous. The YES announcers were indeed impressed by Sean, and mentioned that several times.

Matt did very well too, against the hyped Zoba, getting a double and single I believe. Both players are under much less pressure now, and I think that may help them at this point in their careers. Go get um boys... \:D/

3-20 for Murton since he went to the A's. He had better get hitting if he wants to stay in the line-up. He was one of my favorite people on the Cubs, good luck to Murt.

As bad a funk as he was in with us, it's no surprise it's taking him more than 20 ABs to get it back.

If the A's have him in their future plans, they might as well let him start a majority of the remainder of the year and see if he can figure things out.

Murton went 0 for 5 in the cleanup spot last night and is now batting .120

Ouch.

Gally still pitching well though I think.

Murton 0-4 today, 3-26 with the A's, batting .115. My guess is that he will be moved soon to the minors. OBP .148. Shame, he seems like a great kid.
