Lou's reasoning for keeping Marmol in: He has tremendous success against right handers.

Yay, use numbers from April and May!

Seriously. Why doesn't someone ask him why he believes Marshall is a LOOGY when he's a SP and faces plently of RH.

I think that was a tie at home plate, it was that close.

I slow-moed it on my dvr, his foot hit the plate before he was touched.

Finally someone asks it. And the response is baffling. Seriously? You couldn't even make up something better than that?

He seemed to search for something to say for like 30 seconds. Weird.

Is he hiding something here?

Hiding something or feeling responsible?

When they asked the question about his stuff, he almost had a guilty look on his face and had no answer and then just said, "We'll see how he does after a nice rest here (paraphrased)."

So Lou does indeed think rest could be beneficial for a overused young pitcher. What a novel idea!

Ah atleast I don't have to follow the Brewers and Cards games closely tonight to make sure they don't gain a game. Thank you Sean Marshall and Reed Johnson.

Do you guys really thing that he would be pitching if he was truly injured and they knew it? Wood's "blister" has me more worried.

I was the original one to make the point, but to play Devil's Advocate:

Career vs. RHB = .271 BAA

Career vs. LHB = .235 BAA

The numbers are almost equal this year, but his OPS against is better vs. LHB

Yeah, I think I've got a pretty good eye for these things and he beat it by a nanosecond.

Reporter: Is Lieber OK? Was he available?

Lou: Who?

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Lou said that cause he didn't hear him.

I know, but in context its funny beacuse Lieber is never used.

I don't know. I just find it weird that someone finally asks the question about Marmol's pitch movement and suddenly there's silence.

I mean that's the whole ball of wax here. Who cares what he learns from this? The fact is, if that slider spins up there like that he will continue to get pounded. That's our core problem with Marmol.

I'll watch the Brewers-Reds game because I enjoy watching Volquez pitch when it isn't against us.

Harden with a big small when asked about the crowd

He's taken a couple of light shots at the A's fans, although I'm pretty sure he is trying to me more complimentary of the Cubs fans than dissing the A's fans.

Of course they are. I would think just about every LHP not named Mike Remlinger has a better BAA/OPSA against LH than RH, but that doesn't mean bad Marmol should pitch instead of Marshall. This is directed at the devil's advocate, not you. I'm pretty sure you agree with me.

Thanks for ruining Rich's win for my fantasy team and for himself, Carlos.

I don't blame Carlos for continuing to try. I think it's the managerial team's responsibility to know what's happening and make the appropriate adjustments. Keeping Marmol out there like that seems to be a bad plan -- not the way to put us in the best position to win, which is Lou's job after all.
