Couldn't they just bring Hart in to finish it after this inning? There's no reason with a 7-0 lead to let him go past 5.

Id guess he goes 6 and thats it

He's set to lead off next inning. I'd just call it a day.

Lewis, pinch hitting for Matos, flied out to right field

Harden didn't strike out this guy? I knew this was a terrible trade.

4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K, 7 GO-0 FO for Rich Hill

OMG...somebody ---SOAPDROPPING--- pinch me!

against rookies...

Nonsense. Rich Hill is a major league pitcher if he does not walk people. The only thing holding him back was mechanical or between the ears. Looks like he worked it out.

The other nice thing is that if he can get it together he should have a pretty fresh arm for the stretch run and (hopefully) playoffs.

Theriot is so much better than Cedeno.

Yea Im so glad you are here to pop in sparingly to remind people of such things that have been discussed around here.....

Not sure what that means, was just my opinion. Silly me for thinking this was a place where you could post opinions.

Another hit?

That's it. DFA him

Right now, I feel completely calm with Harden pitching, even if he's in a bit of a jam. It's a bit like when Marmol was in his prime and he'd walk two batters in a row with no outs. I knew he'd get out of it.

I agree. Have Marshall or Hart start getting loose now.

Is this not the best season of baseball any of us have witnessed?

Yes. They are either going to make us all very happy, or crush all of us very hard this year.

The team in 84 was the only one in my lifetime that could be close. I think the 69 team was great, we know how that ended.

Edmonds would like to tell NSBB to suck it by the way.

Did the 69 team maintain this pace this long, or were they already flailing by now?

The '69 team tanked about late August, IIRC.

Into early September. 5 games up on September 2nd, then lost 7 in a row to get knocked out of first.

Of course the Mets had to play out of their minds down the stretch as well to make it not even look close.

I love RIch Harden. This is really the best thing that could have happened. Harden is better than CC.

I don't know.

Stuff-wise? Probably. But I have to give the nod to CC simply because of durability.

We made the better trade, though.

The Cub scored 1 in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd, and 4 in the 4th. That means we're going to score 8 runs this inning, and 16 in the 6th.
