How About Bringing Back Jerry Hairston?

Would Hairston be a possible target to improve the bench?

 

He's finally hitting this year and has played SS and CF. He could spell Theriot some at SS and get work in as an OF if needed. He probably wouldn't be too costly to get.

The last time he was "finally hitting" the Cubs acquired him and he sucked again. He's 30 something and having a career year at home. He's been horrible on the road and there's really no good reason to try and trade for him.

He can play some outfield and makes more consistent contact. However, he plays worse defense and is much older.
