Z at 103 pitches through 8... do you leave him in for the 9th with the ASB coming up?

 

Tough question.

 

I want to say yes, because he's pitched one hell of a game and deserves to finish it, but the other part of me says no because it's his 2nd start off the DL.

Someone said something about DeRosa with bases loaded.

TV said he bats .362 with them loaded and like 3 GS.

has he had one this year? i remember he had one last year against the Braves.

You shouldn't I don't think. Especially because this is his second start off of the DL

I would say definitely not. Wood needs some work, let him finish it out.

Samardzija gives up a single in the 5th, but then retires the next two batters with one of them grounding into a DP.

 

5 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 SO, GO-FO 7-2
