According to the Comcast pregame show, Zambrano was none too pleased. He stormed off after hearing the news, swore a bit and then disappeared into the shower-area where reporters heard a large crash.

He's gonna be ready to break someone over his knee by the time he pitches again.

Z is awesome, even when he's on the DL.

Z didn't look too upset during the game today. Seemed to be his normal self when they showed him on camera. Getting him back to potentially start the 1st game of the Cards series should be a huge boost to the team in that series.

I wonder if he did it to screw around with the reporters?

Well, according to the Trib, Zambrano was a "little bit upset."

Carlos Zambrano insisted he was only "a little bit" upset he was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a minor shoulder strain, though he stormed off after being told the news and a loud banging was heard in the shower area moments later.

After his initial reaction, Zambrano conceded the move was made in his best interests.

"Even if I don't want to go on the DL, I have to accept it," he said. "It's what's best for the team and best for me. We don't want to have a problem with my shoulder. We're giving it rest, and I think it's the best for everybody."

I wonder why they decided to tell Z that he was going on the disabled list on Saturday considering they told Eric Patterson Friday afternoon.

Then again, the article doesn't specifically say he was told Saturday, but it does imply it.

Z strikes me as "react first - think later" kind of guy. I don't think it's a big deal though, that's just who he is. The important thing is that after he throws his initial fit, he cools down and realizes what's best for eveyone.
