Well that sucked. Question for those with easy access to the stats (mildly off topic) . In general what are the league wide numbers for runs scored in an inning with 2nd and 3rd 0 outs versus bases loaded 0 outs?

Umm, heck yeah Fontenot!

2nd and 3rd, no outs - 1.94969 runs

Bases juiced, no outs - 2.13804

Thanks. Thought the balance might have tipped slightly the other way, but this doesn't surprise me. Certainly says something for clogging the bases.

This has the makings of a Marmol for 2 innings night, and I wouldn't care one bit.

Me too, although we're going to really need him this weekend.

Yeah I know. He'd just be unavailable tomorrow, though.

White Sox fed on Pirates pitching and all of a sudden they're world beaters? LOL, let them face a real pitching staff and they'll struggle to score 2 runs a game.

No...if the Sox were scoring tons of runs, I'd say we won't need him because we'll be getting killed all weekend. I think all 3 games will be pretty close.

I agree though...I just really want this win. For my sanity.

So the chances are you'll score more runs, what are the percentages that you'll score one run in each situation. I also wonder how those stats reflect second and third that turn into bases loaded with a walk. Now I run the risk of sounding stupid because I don't understand stats that well

I'd call for the squeeze with Theriot here. It would get an insurance run in and with the Rays playing out of position at third, we might get the runner on as well.

Rays thought so
