Yeah, that's not suprising. Between the drugs, the cheating and the grades, Sampson did a bang-up job. Jesus.

Quick question; how common do you think something like this is? I mean, it is college afterall. I'm sure some teams are much worse than others, but I always kind of wonder.

when I was at DePaul, the basketball team got to live in these swanky, condo-style dorms. I'm positive that all those dudes did was smoke pot and bang white girls.

You would be correct. My girlfriend (now wife) was on the volleyball team. Some of her teammates were those white girls getting banged. Apparently Steven Hunter was quite popular with the white girl population at DePaul.

this hot (but dumb) blonde chick down the hall from me was over there all the time. she also just happened to be Kid Rock's sister, which was funny to us at the time, because Kid Rock wasn't well known yet but we played his self-released stuff on our college radio show. we tried to get her to hook us up for an interview but she never would. too bad, we could have bragged on a Kid Rock interview before we broke it big

I don't think it is as bad as this at all at most places. At least not during the season when there is random drug testing going on. After the season ends is a different story.

Isn't Kid Rock's sister an actress now?

i learned that eric gordon is from illinois on sportscenter today.

NEARLY KILLED HIM

I wonder if you got Eric one on one now if he would admit to you he made a huge mistake listening to his dad and Kelvin?

me and another IU alum were talking about this today. when we saw his quotes about last year's team we thinking what he really wanted to say was, "I should have gone to Illinois".

To be fair, our team didn't have a hell of a lot of camaraderie last year either. Though I guess going 16-19 played its part(which obviously wouldn't have been the case with Gordon.

of course....Ole Miss basketball head coach arrested for assaulting a cab driver:

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=3777703

Mississippi coach Andy Kennedy was meeting with athletic director Pete Boone in a downtown Cincinnati hotel after Kennedy was arrested early Thursday morning for allegedly assaulting a cab driver.

The pair were expected to release a statement later Thursday after the meeting, which will determine if Kennedy would be allowed to coach Thursday night's game against No. 9 Louisville (9 p.m. ET, ESPN).

According to Cincinnati police, the 40-year-old Kennedy was arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge for allegedly punching 25-year-old cab driver Mohammed Ould Jiddou in the face while shouting racial slurs. The assault happened at 1 a.m. ET in downtown Cincinnati, according to the police report.

According to the Cincinnati Police Department arrest report, Kennedy "was the aggressor that punched listed victim with a closed fist. [Kennedy] also was using racial slurs while punching victim. There was an unrelated witness that observed the whole incident."

The Rebels (7-3), considered one of the best teams in the SEC West entering this season, are playing Louisville as part of the Big East/SEC Invitational.

wow we're still talking about eric gordon. i thought i stepped into a time capsule for a minute there.

Don't worry we'll get back to talking about Missouri always losing to Illinois by next week.

To be fair, this is kinda a big deal. I mean he is really throwing Kelvin under the bs here. I know coach wanted them to stop doing drugs, but not if it meant us not winning games. Also am I the only one who thinks this is more than just pot? I doubt very much that Eric would have thought pot was such a big deal.

I doubt EJ would have helped the team camaraderie out much. I think his score first mentality wouldn't have meshed well with Pruitt who, although talented, seemed to only care about scoring and his professional future.

No way he's referring to just pot.

That's what I was thinking. Plus added on the crack dealer that Sampson was trying to recruit. Seriously that guy was the chair of the ethics board at one point. What a piece of feces.

You wouldn't think so. But I've known more than a few young athletes who were completely overwhelmed when they realized some teammates smoked pot.

Come on Gordon played with the highest level talent every off season in high school. One of those guys he was always playing with was Michael Beasley. There is no way that he didn't know Beasley was a pothead. This is something bigger than just pot.

Yeah me too. A lot of basketball players college and obviously NBA smoke pot. I think there has to be more with it something worse than pot.
