Hahahha, Baseball Tonight has got it all reversed. Said the Cubs have the best rotation in the NL, yet the Phillies have the best offense and bullpen.

Ridiculous, our bullpen bar none is the best perhaps in the league, and our offense is definitely the best in Major League Baseball. Our rotation is definitely our shakiest area.

Now i'm reminded why I don't watch this show much.

They're going straight by the statistics, not by the talent level.

The Cubs have the best ERA by a starting rotation in the National League.

The Phillies have the best ERA in the bullpen.

And the Cubs and Phillies have been trading the offensive total back and forth over the last week, so it really depends on which day they took their data from.

So they weren't wrong. They were just looking at it straight from the stats, not necessarily looking at who might be better in the future.

:? Kruk prefaced his choices by saying "I know the Cubs have more runs than the Phillies but the Phillies have more ways to score!"

Perhaps they were going by stats?

Phillies - 1st in relievers ERA, 1st in team SLG

Cubs - 1st in starters ERA (tied), 1st in team OPS

Again, I don't care if Reed hit a HR against a righty yesterday, Reed sucks against righties, and if you insist on him playing every day in Soriano's absense, please do not hit him leadoff.

I don't understand the point of DH'ing Lee twice. His defense alone should be enough to keep him on the field.

Exactly. Unless Lee is really gassed, I don't see the reason at all. Lou probably just wanted to get Hoff a start and determined that this is the best way to get him in the lineup.

eh, i don't mind it so much. He's going to play nearly everyday for the rest of the year, so go ahead and give him teh rest now. Plus, that fake turn isn't good for you anyway.

Did Len just get bleeped?

It was the broadcast.

Litsch is looking pretty effective so far.

And two against righties.

And even with those 2 HRs, his SLG against righties is just .330

His SLG against lefties is .441

And I realize SLG is not always the most important factor leading off in a traditional sense. Well his OBP against righties is .289. Against lefties its .410
