The only way that coulda been a catch is if the ump thought it bounced out of the glove. He obviously didn't catch the ball cleanly barehanded. The way he came in, I don't know how you could judge that as hitting his glove first.

Wow. Griffey just GIDP'd on a 3-0 pitch with runner at 3B and 1 out. Volquez still on the hook for the loss, possibly costing me fantasy points.

Is it just me or do Pedroia's mannerisms look a lot like Matt Murton's?

They look a little bit alike, although Pedroia definitely looks more ratlike.

Encarnacion just hit a 2 out, 2 strike homer off Papelbon to tie the game at 4.

Edwin Encarnacion homers off of Papelbon to tie the game 4-all in the 9th.

I'm torn; I like seeing the Red Sox taken down a peg, but I hate seeing the Reds do it, particularly at home where they can shoot off the damn fireworks and the fans can cheer and cheer until the next series when they'll fail to fill even half of the park.

As the announcers said, there was absolutely no reason not to have Chad Cordero in the game.

Even the fact that he's not on the Reds?

I went to the Reds-Red Sox game last night and realized how bad Pedroia has been this year.

260/310/363.

Yuck.

And yet he's projected to start the All Star game.

He's Ryan Theriot with Red Sox hype added

not really. he's more like mark derosa the last two years, or todd walker with a better glove. he's been unlucky on batted balls this year.

Id really like to know how an umpire can not tell that ball hit the ground before going into Ludwicks glove? It was blatantly obvious. Oh well lets hope Brett Myers remembers hes Brett Myers tomorrow and starts pitching like a good pitcher

Carlos Lee hit an inside the park HR in the bottom of the first. The next hitter made an out to end the inning. Alex Rodriguez then lead off the top of the 2nd with an inside the park home run.

i just watched both replays and they were normal home runs (i.e. over the fence)

Yahoo gamecast has failed me. Sad, I was all set for another Tim Kurkijan freak out on baseball tonight.
