I'm surprised no one talks about the Cubs inability to bat with risp and 2 outs. Seriously, they're batting like 200 in that situation.

It would have been funny had chipper fallen and not be able to get up on the way to third base

im going to hell for this but i was hoping for his quad to completely tear as he made his way to third

Not that I blame him for taking it, but the best pitch to hit was the first one.

I hate we're blowing through our best part of the lineup with two outs.

I felt that way when Lee got the hit, oh well, this is our final stand instead of the 9th I guess

Because Geo Soto and Mark DeRosa have both shown to be easy outs this year.

there is also this guy seperating those two, you may have heard of him

I didn't know Edmonds had the ability to record three outs in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Get used to it; I'm very sarcastic.

Aaaaand??? So one of our next 3 hitters is bad and that means we have no shot?

This. You win games by getting runners into scoring position with no outs, not by getting them home with two at an average rate.

Because those numbers don't really mean much in terms of indicating their ability to hit with RISP and 2 outs?

marmol seriously has more command of his slider than his fastball... so weird.

We've got a couple pitchers like that. I think I remember some dude named Wuertz who also had better command of his slider than the fastball. Haven't seen him in forever, so I don't know if he still plays or not.

It's still possible. But we'd have to have one hell of an inning (both top and bottom halves).

I personally think it's an important stat. Cubs batting .208 in that situation.

So I don't think you were being sarcastic.

the numbers that prove that they suck with 2 outs and RISP don't prove that they suck with 2 outs and RISP? FTH?
