it's just people trying to be cute, have something to plus a post count, or have a 'told you so' if the cubs magically lose three games in a row within two weeks of a thread like this. just like the two times there were threads like 'cubs have won 7 in a row,' then they lose two out of four, as if eventually that wasn't going to happen. this is a grade a fun team to watch, jinx' be damned.

Let people talk about whatever they want, especially if it is something positive. The lock/delete comments are childish. I'm to infer that you want all Cubs-related threads to be negative since that won't spawn a jinx? I mean seriously, your logic is faulted if there even is any.

 

With that said, I think it's amazing how this team has been able to avoid losing streaks, especially with the uncertainty of the pitching staff. If someone told you that Lilly would have a 5+ era, hill would be in aaa, and marquis would be marquis, would you expect this kind of stability?

 

I think a lot of credit needs to go to Ryan Dempster for shouldering a huge load as the default #2 in the rotation, and far exceeding any of our expectations so far.

wow dude. It's a stat because we are the only ones to have done it so far. You could say a team has a .666 win percentage but hasn't won more than 2 in a row all season. You can do this with just about any stat. What is great about it is we are the only ones and it shows we haven't been on a losing streak.

Exactly, uncertainty with the starting staff is what you would expect to ignite losing streaks. Frankly, I do believe that this staff will yield a moderate losing streak at some point soon, but this offense has found a way to do some pretty incredible things so far (though not in this most recent series)
