In case someone didn't hear, Pujols will miss both games due to a calf strain. Ankiel has a knee infection, so his status is unknown.

 

There's a chance of the Cardinals losing both games today, with those aforementioned injuries and Wellemeyer and Parisi (allowed 8 runs in his last start) on the mound, but it'll probably be a split.

 

On a side note, Bailey vs Hamels should be a good pitching matchup, with two terrific young pitchers.

BTW, after today, the Cardinals will have played the third easiest schedule in baseball this year.

 

This is after including the Cubs for three games, which heavily spikes it up. The only 2 teams below them in SOS (and the team directly above them) are from the NL West, which has been beating up each other all year.

 

Basically what I'm trying to say is, the Cardinals schedule is going to get much harder.

Well they have all this talent. I mean there is Pujols and Wainwright. Sure after that it gets a bit dicey, but really who has more than two good players? No one who doesn't make the playoffs.
