  1. Nope.. just another cubbie fan following the piper to Lake Michigan... Just one more question. Are you a Cardinals fan? You seem to be acting like you're a Cubs fan, but 95% of your posts have been about the Cardinals. It's okay if you are a Cardinals fan.
  2. Cubs will win 8-3.. Old Randy will be run out of the game.
  3. Cubs and Cards are even at 3-3 in matchups regardless of run differental. That is a fact whether we like it or not.
  4. The funny thing is he is probably right.. .or they will just pick up Jeff Weaver again to be their world series ace.
  5. If that is the case then they should just hand division championships to every team leading the run differential at all star break.. big whoop. I want to see a ring. The Cubs have outscored their opponents by 111 runs, the widest margin, by far, in MLB. The Cardinals and Brewers have outscored opponents by 33 and 27 runs, nice, but good for 8th and 12th in baseball. The Cubs are pretty clearly the most talented team, by a significant margin. They have the highest Runs scored in the NL and highest OPS, with the 2nd best ERA and best BAA. Neither Brewers nor the Cardinals are capable of matching up in both the pitching and hitting categories. :banghead: Things like run differential (and other far more complicated statistics) can be used to tell you how much better at baseball one team is than another beyond what simple W-L totals can tell you. The desired end result is more wins. But actually evaluating these things beyond that shallow surface is what can tell you what is most likely to happen before it happens. If two teams are .500, say, two months into the season, but one of these teams is outscoring opponents by several runs while the other has a fairly even or negative run differential, which of those teams do you think is likely more talented and therefore more likely to win more games going forward?
  6. I do not think the Royals have believed in themselves since 1985. A little part of me died inside when he started talking about "talent players" v. "effort players" On Sportscenter before the game, he said "The Cardinals believe in themselves, and that's all that matters." I'm sure the Royals believe in themselves, why aren't they in a pennant race? Hell, the Reds had to be believing after Dusty got hired, where are they?
  7. Since when did run differential win a championship? It really means nothing since the Cards and Cubs are tied 3-3 for the season series.
  8. Dude.. dont make dumb comments like this.. you sound like a homer that is making excuses. Any Cubs fan including me would love to 'fade off big time' and win a world series.
  9. gee i dont know.. cancer, world wide hunger, war, healthcare etc.. Like what :-k
  10. Dude.. if that makes you sick you should really get out more often. There are bigger things in life to worry about. :-({|=
  11. Cards win 11-7..
  12. Finally gets hard?? they did go on the road at Boston and Detroit and had NY mets at home recently. 3 games behind us after tonight.
  13. Duncan hits 2 run bomb.. game tied up at 7.
  14. Cards up 4-0 in 1st inning with Glauss 3 run bomb...
  15. i'm glad somebody has a sense of humor in here. \:D/  I don't get the constant demeaning of Sox fans. We sound like them, when they call us a bunch of dumb drunks. We need to stop worrying about the Sox, let alone what we think their fans are like. Some of my Sox friends are good people, nothing like what you describe. If you add the word "mullet" anywhere in that sentence, though, and you might have a Cards/Braves fan. Nah, we get drunk and start fights with the opposing teams bullpen. Much better. It's called a joke. Get a sense of humor. There are bad stereotypes about every group of fans and its fun to play around with them. Not every post is as serious as the 7th game of the World Series. Have fun with it.
