I've come to accept the fact that he'll be on the team the rest of the season.

Is he looking as bad as his numbers indicate? I've only been listening on gameday audio. Sounded like he got a hold of two balls tonight and barely missed home runs.

*insert joke about Edmonds and getting a hold of two balls.

To be fair, the first deep fly was only almost gone because of the short wall in LF.

Lou repeated before the game last night that they'll try to give him as many at-bats as possible, and threw in there that he really needs to pick it up offensively. The patience is definitely thinning already.

Only 4 games, but Edmonds has been worse since signing with the Cubs. He's done, people. Bat speed doesn't exist anymore. Can't cover up the holes in his swing anymore. Of course, he's been better than Felix has been in AAA, so there's not really another option right now.

Weve got to at least try and stretch it out until we go to St. Louis in early July. I just want to see their heads explode after not knowing how to react. Then again, if he doesnt at least break the mendoza line soon, the experiment may have to be scrapped early.

Depends on when Fukudome volunteers to play center.

Not sure if your joking there, but I wonder if Hoff could do RF.

I believe that may be the most likely next step. Pie's slow start at AAA isn't going to win him any early release from the doghouse. If Edmonds continues to suck, I could see them giving Fukudome some time in center in a couple weeks with Hoff getting some time in right.

Murton and Patterson are both doing good down there, as is 43 year old "prospect" Andres Torres.

I'm not sure if they think of Patterson as a CF or not, Murton is RH and a corner guy.

With Hoff here now, and with his first start a success, I am going to assume he impressed Lou enough to be given first dibs at the LH bat that will protect Ramirez duty.

They'll probably cheer since he'll go 1-for-12 in the series and they'll realize that he's hurting their biggest rival and still helping out the Cardinals.

Yeah, the Cards' fans in my office are giggling over the fact the Cubs signed him....they are the opposite of upset.

Maybe it will be like Sosa. While obviosuly broken down in every way, he'll hit one more meaningless dinger off his former team before limping off into the sunset.
