So where does Edmonds keep his little dog while the game is being played? Hope he didn't negotiate to have it sit with him in the dugout because it would probably be in an oversized purse ...

Also, is it true all the vendors are diving for their tips today in honor of Edmonds' first game as a Cub?

According to both WSCR and ESPN1000, Edmonds is hitting 6th in the lineup today, and Fukudome is still 5th.

Guh?

i hate being right

Gotta be because Hank is playing today, right?

Soriano

Theriot

Lee

Ramirez

Fukudome

Edmonds (i feel dirty just typing that)

DeRosa

Hank

Demp

I think you'll definitely see Fukudome move up against righties when Soto is playing, at least I hope.

So we want a lefty bat to split up the lefties, and then we...don't...split...up...the lefties...

I doubt Fukudome will see anything good to hit today. I predict a couple of BB's for him today

Given that Maddux has tough time holding runners close that may not be bad.

I'd prefer Fuku hitting 2nd today with a guaranteed 1st inning AB. Maddux tends to miss in the first inning and it's best to jump on those misses early and often.

Good point

Yea, I figured Soto was getting a day off. Hopefully that's the explanation for that lineup (if there is any)

It's a low-risk move. Worth a try although I said in my blog I'd take a pass if it were me. They're going to assign Dave Keller full time to Pie in Iowa. Let's just see what happens.

Could be much worse. That said, I'd put Theriot 7th, Edmonds 5th and Fuku 2nd. Oh, and I'd also have the better-defending shortstop play shortstop.

Thanks. What's Keller going to focus on with Pie?

I know that Lou is a little....sensitive...when it comes to questioning his lineups...but is there a reason that he's hesitant to put fukudome up higher in the order to take advantage of the OBP? Is it just because he like Ramirez with that protection?

So it wasn't until I just checked the lineup on gameday and saw Jim Edmonds' name that it actually sunk in.

Jim Edmonds is on the Cubs. Jim Edmonds.

I'll take a stab at this one: Hitting.

Nate McLouth is still on steroids (or something).

First inning HR, his 11th, puts the Bucs up 1-0 on the Cards.

I drafted him in all 4 of my leagues.

The Pirates sent 4 batters to the plate in the first. One hit a HR. Piniero threw 8 pitches. Eight!!! That's some epic patience.
