With the expected signing of Edmonds tomorrow, I decided to kick around some lineups. This move is really going to affect Theriot and Fukudome the most.

With a RHP on the hill: (Lou's most likely lineup)

Soriano

Fukodome

Lee

Ramirez

Edmonds

Soto

DeRosa

Theriot

Pitcher

LHP:

Soriano

Theriot

Lee

Ramirez

Fukodome

Soto

Derosa

Johnson

Pitcher

I really don't like the amount of flip flopping Fukodome and Theriot will be doing. IMO, this will cause them to slump. I hope Edmonds hits 7th at all times.

No way to I move Fukodome out of the 5 hole. It's not broke, so don't fix it.

If we were to sign Edmonds this would be the most I ever disliked a Cubs player.

I see nothing good about this...he's not as good defensively or offensively as Pie is RIGHT NOW. At absolute best, he's a left handed power bat off the bench who will strike out 8 out of 10 times and look miserable doing so.

This is NOT a good idea.

I prefer not to think of the possibility of signing Edmonds. It would be like me thinking, let me plan if I get hit by a car tomorrow what would I do without legs. It might happen, but I'd prefer just to deal with the possibility if it happens.

If Edmonds hits ahead of Geo in this lineup, I will jump off the 42nd story of the US bank building, which happens to be the tallest building in Wisconsin

You need a lefty bat to protect Ramirez. :pig:

Where else are they going to hit him? This is EXACTLY what will happen. He is going to hit 5th.

In my dream world....Fuku is moved to 2nd and Edmonds 5th. Eddy goes 0-34 gets released and everyone moves up one behind Ramirez in the lineup and Pie comes back and of course Fuku stays at 2. Oh yeah, Cubs win a lot of those games.

Excellent...the lineup is producing against righties even with Johnson's hideous numbers...this would be the perfect time to get our highly touted CF prospect some MLB experience against righties...QUICKLY, SIGN JIM EDMONDS.

She can't take it any longer captain!

Literally the only good thing to come out of this would be Fuk getting closer to the top of the lineup. Everything else about it stinks.

Why don't we just get Bonds, also? At least he can still hit.

I was thinking we should get Piazza. If we're going for the over the hill, couldn't put up good numbers in a t-ball game, high-lighted hair crowd, this is almost a no-brainer.

I see absolutely no positives in signing Edmonds, unless he's going to be used as a punching bag for Zambrano when Carlos has a bad inning. Or maybe MLB wants to test the durability of the breaks behind the ivy by having someone run flat out right into them a few times... then maybe we could use Edmonds.

Samson 2B

Donaldson C

Burke RF

Smith 3B

Johnston DH

Lara LF

Gonzalez, M SS

can we pull Curtis Goodwin out of retirement?

Is that Tom Goodwin's little brother?

No, but he is cousins with both Walter Payton and Gary Payton.

Curtis did well for himself getting over 1000 at-bats in the major leagues considering he had a career .609 OPS.

Felix Pie should be so lucky.
