Andruw Jones sucks, knows it, and doesn't care

I don't know if this guy has slammed Jones in previous columns, sounds like he had, but if I was questioning him about his weight and play on the field, and how he feels about the fans reactions, and he told me he didn't give a crap, and also told me that I myself was fat and would probably die tomorrow, I'm taking him down

 

This is what Simers does. He baits an athlete until they can't handle his schtick anymore. Then he writes an awful column about it.

 

The LA Times has the worst sports section in the country.

I laughed out loud at this little exchange:

 

I reminded Jones that I had lost 14 pounds and even had eaten a doughnut with the 7-Eleven Kid, and how does it look when the team's center fielder has a bigger belly than the columnist writing about the team?

 

"Look at your belly hanging out of your shirt," Jones said. "You're probably going to die tomorrow."

I haven't been following the whole Simers vs Jones thing or whatever (if it even is a thing), but it sounds to me like Andruw is just screwing with a columnist that he (and probably the rest of his team) hates.

 

But yeah, he is really fat though.

From what I remember living in LA, the entire LA Times itself is pretty shaky. Maybe it's gotten better, but things like this make me think not. I don't even think Mariotti would chase a guy around like this and bait him with little contests and what not. It's pretty juvenile.

Then the commentator adding "Did we push this poor dominican kid into a world he couldn't handle?"

 

question is can he surpass Cecil Fielder (In his last year)in weight?

that'd be a pretty lousy reporting job, considering that andruw jones is from curacao, which is not particularly close to the dominican republic.

What does it say when Bill Plaschke might not be the worst sports writer at your paper? The LA Times sports section is BRUTAL.

What is it with people who come up with user names based on the body parts of celebrities? We've got a few of those on this site as well. Those are the lamest names.

Both Jones and the writer were jerks to each other.

 

I'm sure glad Jones isn't on our team. Edmonds is great compared to jones, because so far he doesn't have the punk attitude.

Plus he doesn't cost anything.
