If this team keeps playing like this, they deserve nothing and will almost certainly take 3rd place.

ridiculous and wrong

They'll be like 3-7 in their last 10 games so yeah, I guess you're right, they'd do worse than 3rd place if they continued on that pace.

Thanks for correcting me.

This is a pretty average lineup without A-Ram and Soriano still in a semi-funk.

to be fair, most lineups become average when you remove arguably their best hitter and turn their third or fourth-best hitter into a lesser version of neifi perez.

Never compare Alfonso Soriano to Neifi Perez. Neifi did great things for this team.

While playing for the Rockies, yes.

His first week with the Cubs was so good it warranted starting for two years

And when DLee and Kosuke are slumping.

I'm pretty sure what sori is going thru is more than a "semi-funk"

Not really. The comments are that the throw beat him so that = out in Umps mind. The replay is clear that his foot in on the base. But it is done so the issue really is, why not take it out on the ump and not on the player who plays for the team that you want to win

It was a dumb play no matter what happened. If you spend your entire paycheck on scratch off tickets instead of paying bills and end up winning 100 grand, it was a still a dumb idea.

Another run handed to STL by Lou's idiocy. If Marshall starts the inning that double may not have happened.

I wonder how many runs a game we cost ourselves by not having DeRo and Fuku in front of Lee and Soto?

Lee has looked pretty bad tonight with theriot on base. Although I don't judge Lee's ability to hit (particularly with runners on) by one game.

That said, I think it has been shown that lineup order does not affect total run production all that much. And the most runs are predicted by a lineup which has the best hitter batting first, second best hitting second, etc. so that the better hitters get more ABs over the course of a season.

haven't the cubs been going with fukudome then derosa then soto for almost the whole season?

DeRosa at 3rd is bleh. If he could have made that play earlier this wouldn't have been a problem, and on the replay he could have possibly done something with Pujols' "double"

Nice route to that one Alfonso.

You have to be kidding me... how does Soriano get blamed for that?
