This team was playing really well, when they knew Soriano would be gone for awhile, but when they realize he was close to coming back, they decide the 2007 Cubs would return, and this team would return to medocrity.

If Soriano going to play, can we atleast make him hit 8th, where his "skills" are perfectly suited for?

i love Howry and Sori. they rawk...

Are you seriously blaming Howry? He got 6 outs in a row.

i was at the game the on Wednesday night and watched Howry give up 2 on the hardest hit homer I've ever seen. have you watched Howry yet this year? 6 outs? nicely placed...

I wasn't aware this was the Wednesday game thread.

i wasn't aware that cumulative performance was only available for daily criticism. my bad...

We should make a petition that goes to the MLB requesting that an exception to the steroids policy be made for Alfonso.

Steroids aren't going to help him hit 45 foot curveballs.

I'm sure you had no idea that what is being said in the game thread is generally taken in context of the current game.

In other news, the Hawks are 10 seconds away from getting to a game 7 in Boston.

The Celtics are pulling an Alfonso Soriano

Since you threw Howry in there w/ Soriano, I must ask again. Why not include Ward? Or even Fontenot? Damn that Howry for pitching a perfect 8th.

Nice pitching by Howry tonight.

You're right, too bad no one will remember it thanks to the Alfonso Soriano Experience.

So I missed it....why is Ramirez out of the game?

Hit by a pitch on the hand. Didn't look very good, but nobody really knows anything yet.

Ouch.

Also, skimming through here it seems like Soriano has had a particularly bad game. I read about the missed flyball, what else has he done bad?

hope sori ends it swing at a pitch in the dirt.

No, he'll end his night by hitting a meaningless one run homer, which WOULD have been the game tier if not for his FUBAR.

Yah, 35 HR is perfect for the 8 spot.

Two missed flyballs in the same inning leading to a run, two bad strikeouts with runners in scoring position on pitches nowhere near the plate.

He has also left 4 on base.

Everything other than a RBI FC that Izturis caught, especially another botched routine pop up to left that led to an RBI ground rule double
