Do the Rockies have anything we want?

With Tulo on his way to the DL until at least the ASB, this makes Ronny Cedeno or Ryan Theriot very valuable to them. I actually do like both Theriot and Cedeno, but like Higlanders, in the end, there can only be one, and the other will rot away on the bench.

 

I know theres probably an abundance of teams, including the White Sox considering unloading there worthless back up short stops on them, but Theriot or Cedeno would be one of the more enticning out there.

 

Do the Rox have any decent middle relievers theyd be willing to part with?

Nix is garbage. Their 2nd base hole is going to creep back up here with Tulo out and Barmes having to move back to SS for the time being.

The first thing I thought when I heard this was if the Rockies may panic and trade for Brian Roberts.

 

I doubt Cedeno or Theriot has built up much trade value, hot start or not.

I thought they released Nix? Atkins played 2B for a game, I think, but it didn't appear that such an option would be forseeable for the season. Would've opened the door for Stewart, though.

Quotes by the Rockies GM suggest he's accepted their fate as also rans this year. It lead me to believe he's not going to panice to replace Tulo, but build for the future.

Yeah, that's what I would expect to see as well. I might have missed it while I was out of town, but I don't think Nix got released. But, Nix is nothing more than a defensive minded 2b. The guy can't hit. With an unimpressive starting rotation right now, the Rockies need all the offense they can get.
