We've won four games in a row, scored seven runs last night, sit at 13-7, and yet the overreaction in this thread is great!

True, except I can't escape that 3 of those wins were against the Pirates, and we camed down to the last strike in the 8th before getting 5 of those 7, almost stranding basees loaded no outs. And 10 of those 13 wins are against the 3 bottom dwellers of the possible worst division in baseball.

Devil's Advocate anyone?

Lilly must have heard about the gem Sean Gallagher (7.2 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 12 K) threw down in Iowa today and realized he better get it going.

Like lilly has to worry about sean gallagher, he knows he plays for the cubs... :banghead:

I love how I have no confidence in this team to get a run in when we have the bases loaded and 0 outs. It's almost like we all know what is coming.

Did you watch the 8th inning last night?

Yeah and it wasn't pretty either. It ended well, but we damn near blew that chance too.

So you're counting 2 out hits that score 2 runs as a failure in that situation too?

That doesn't seem fair. Cedeno's AB wasn't ugly at all. He did a fine job. Actually, it was kind of funny. They got Soto on a high fastball -- Hershiser says "I'd like to see that same pitch here" -- then the pitcher throws it, and WAP! Ronny lines it over the infield.

It was beautiful.

Sean Gallagher will never pitch in the cubs starting rotation, no matter how well he plays

Yes it was, but it never should have came to that. TIme and time again the Cubs fail to get the runner in before it comes to that.

because clearly if there's one thing the Cubs do, it's underuse their young pitchers.

Are you saying this year or ever? Because I'd have to think that Gallagher will replace either Dempster or Marquis in the rotation next season.

I like to cruise gameday threads for almost every team. Fans of all 30 teams believe this about their team.

Who cares? If the 2 run double comes with 0 outs, 1 out, or 2 outs...it counts the same.

I just don't see Lou giving Gallagher a chance to pitch this year when we have guys like Lieber and Marshall pitching in the pen right now. I could be wrong
