Gameday has Soto with four swinging strikes in a row. That's a new one on me.

Remember, we've got Angel Hernandez behind the plate !!!

No kidding. Angel sure did not dissapoint tonight, did he? His zone was inconsistent and all over the place again tonight as usual, not to mention the obvious balk by Heilman. Nice to see the Cubs win despite of Hernandez.

On June 29, 2007, it felt like the whole team changed, and I had a different feeling about them from that day on.

I felt pretty good about this team already, but I get the feeling I'm going to look at this five-run ninth in October and know that's when it clicked.

I still remember him umping that crazy game in '01

Does Wood get a save for this game?

I like the post-game rule change recommendation where he should have gotten the save since he was warmed up with a 1-run lead.

The Cubs didn't score in the ninth today.

Of course they didn't, because they're choking dogs who can't hit in the clutch.

Ah yes! The Steve McMichael game, who can forget that? You know after that game, I used to think Hernandez just had it out for the Cubs like Eric Gregg did. But after seeing him blow calls and screw up strikezones leaguewide(and watch him throw out Bobby Cox 3 times) I finally realized he is just a terrible ump.

He really is the worst ump I've ever seen in my life.

Remember what Marty said guys, we will find a way to screw it up because, well, we are the Cubs.

Eat it Brennaman.

Pretty soon, "because we're the Cubs" is going to be a positive refrain on this site. If it's not already.
