I could almost see San Fran taking a look at him for no reason to ;-). They like old guys, he is old. They don't have a 1st baseman worth anything, he can still field well enough for one of the worst teams in baseball. He can hit a couple of ball into McCovey, and thats pretty much the only reason to go to a game this season out their.

Tampa might be a good fit. Not sure if I would really want him on the team, but with Floyd on the DL and on the other injury problems they have had he could be of some use and for cheap too. Plus I am all for making the AL East a little more difficult.

This is wrong. Sabean has decided this year he no longer likes old guys. Now he likes really bad young guys. He's trying to replace each of the old guys one by one. His list of bad young guys to replace old guys is quite lengthy.

I really don't think he goes to San Fran, I just think it would be funny. They just really have nothing at 1st what so ever. I'm going to stick with Tampa as my team of choice. Its close to his home town, he stays in the AL East, and they need someone healthy.

That doesn't seem possible, those would be absolute bombs... has any right hander gone into McCovey?

I'm almost positive the Yankees will sign him.

I agree. Giambi seems to be able to field first a lot better this year than in recent years. Thomas wants a shot at the playoffs and the Yankees would give him that plus I think that he'd like to be somewhere that he can be in the spotlight. I know that money will be the leading factor, but I would also think that he'd like a chance to stick it to the Jays. Staying in the AL East would allow this.

For whatever reason I was thinking he was left handed, not sure why.

Money shouldn't be a factor with Toronto already being on the hook for the remainder of his contract. Although it would say a lot about him if money is the key factor.

To do what? We literally have 3 DHs now! What ABs is he getting in NY?

I wouldn't mind seeing him in Tampa. It would definitely make the division games fun!

Frank wore out his welcome by whining...cue broken record.

I don't care for much of anything about the White Sox, but I always had a special disdain for that guy.

Then does that mean, that the Yankees are close to trading Jack Elliot (Tom Sellack) to the Chunchi Dragons?

Teams I can see him resurfacing with in the not too distant future:

Orioles

Twins

Mariners

Yankees

Why would the Orioles want him? They already have enough overpaid dead weight that they're trying to get rid of.

The O's make it a point to do 10 illogical things before breakfast.

Also Andy MacPhail is their GM. They are off to a good start but have sputtered a little. This would be one of those "See, we really are trying to win this year" type moves for the fans.

Money pretty much can't be a factor on a 1 year deal. Toronto's on the hook for that money, and any contract he signs will be the pro-rated league minimum and would simply take away from what Toronto owes him. He's making 8M this year no matter where he goes.

He was always too good of a hitter for me to have full disdain for him..... similar to Pujols. And Thomas had a better start to his career than Pujols did, (Cardinals lurkers should baseballreference their OPS+'s if they don't believe me).
