i'm black.

people using the race card as a reason for booing for and against are stupid.

if i go booing dusty does that make me racist against black people then?

i would boo dusty because he allowed a flap between broadcasters and the players to boil over and distract the team down the stretch (and also broke up a pretty good tv broadcasting team, but i liked chip and his hokey/goofiness. gave me a better reason to watch braves games). i would boo dusty for mangling the arms of our pitchers. if dusty doesn't like the booing, then he should have never gotten our hopes up after year one and failing to do better than his previous year for four years. actually five years counting his last year in sanfran. if the same thing happens in cincinatti, they'll boo him too.

he thinks that chicago is bad with racism? try cincinatti. they had race riots there recently.

Well, the inevitable Dusty racism has been replaced with the inevitable Soriano injury. See, there's the twist.

Fwiw, even if Baker protected the young arms in '03 and made better managerial decisions in 04', that the Cards would've likely finished ahead of the Cubs regardless.

We woulda been the wild card though.

True, but those who are overly critcal of Baker think the Cubs would be entitled to a WS appearence in '04 if Wood and Prior were healthy. Even with them out there, the Cubs weren't the best in the division.

Cubs beat the Cardinals in the season series in 2004 unless I'm mistaken. And I'd have liked to see any team beat a rotation of Wood, Prior and Z in that year's playoffs. People forget that Wood and Prior were looking as good as they ever have towards the end of that season, and Z had the lowest ERA of the three of them.

A white guy wouldn't have been hurt on that play.

Because white guys can't hop.
