I'm not a fan of horrible throws that require a player to bail you out to save the game, no.

 

4 foot tall Theriot was able to catch the ball. The throw couldn't have been that bad.

He was a few inches away from that ball either hitting So Taguchi and putting runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs (at least, depending on how far the ball ricocheted away) or from that ball sailing past Theriot into centerfield and at least putting the winning run on third with two out.

 

Yes, it was a good play by Wood to get to the ball in the first place quickly enough to have a chance to get the runner at second. But that throw was a couple inches away from being a disaster.
