Well, time to head across the street and watch the game I guess.

Go Cubs......don't suck against the mediocre lefty please.

I....guess game coverage hasn't started yet. Still got WGN news. This game time sucks so bad.

I really hope Cedeno goes about 4 for 5 today. His next chance may not be for another month.

I'm not a big Cedeno fan, but I hope he does well today too. I'd love to be proven wrong that he's very unlikely an upgrade over Theriot.

So has Pie offiically fallen out of favor with Lou and Co. now?

Seems to be that way, unless his wrist still hurts from being hit by a pitch. He did get in the game for defensive purposes yesterday though, so who knows. Kind of ridiculous that they didn't even give him a week into the season before they benched him if he has in fact been benched.

Supposedly his hand was still hurting him. Supposedly.

He actually has a bruised wrist. The main reason he's on the bench today, though, is that we're facing a lefty - the #1 reason Reed Johnson is on this team to begin with.

Pie was never going to start against lefties once we got Johnson, which is fine by me. We've been hearing that Pie might've gotten the last two days off in part because of the sore wrist from the beaning.

We won't really get to see if he's fallen out of favor until two games from now, because I believe we're facing lefties both today and the next game.

I understand we're "playing the percentages" here, but how the hell is Pie supposed to learn to hit lefties if he never faces them? Seems pretty counter-intuitive to me.

He's never hit them in his career, so the likelihood is he'll never learn to hit them. Now the most unlikely situation could occur and he could still learn to hit them, but is it worth basically giving up these at-bats in the longshot hope it does?

Also, he's a very young player just now adjusting to major league pitching. Is it that bad an idea to make things as easy for him as possible? I always thought a manager's job was to put his players in the best position to succeed now - playing him against opponents he's most likely to do well against seems to go right along with that line of thinking.

Why in the hell is WGN news playing a white sox song at the end of their program when the cubs are coming up next?

And who in the hell is calling this game?

I definitely did NOT expect to hear Pat Hughes's voice when coverage kicked in. I'm guessing by Len and Bob on the screen that there's a big mistake in production somewhere. Funny stuff.

Uh, anyone else have Pat and Ron on the TV? Not that I mind, of course.

ahhhh, thats it. i still don't know how that happens though

Am I crazy or am I hearing Pat Hughes on channel 9?

Yes, Pat is announcing the lineups right now. I don't know why he's doing it for tv, but I like it.

I suppose it's better than the audio track for an episode of "Sister, Sister"

The WGN HD feed is all messed up too. It's Len and Bob, but the sound doesn't match the picture and it sounds like they're taking in a tin can.

Has this ever happened? Glad I missed that one.

Hopefully Hughes will be on TV for the whole game.
