Just think had we had made attempts to go after Tejada instead of Brian Roberts...

At how much it would've taken to get Tejada and his salary? I'm not so sure.

I thought the Stros gave up a lot of quantity, but not quality. Could be remembering wrong, though.

That's what I thought. He or Renteria would have been terrific. Braves and Tigers seemed to have some back room dealing on Edgar, though.

Luke Scott, pitchers Matt Albers, Troy Patton and Dennis Sarfate, and third baseman Michael Costanzo is what the Astros gave up. While that's a lot, had we offered Murton, Gallagher, Veal, Cedeno, and a lower level minor leaguer, we probably could have at least competed with the Astros line-up.

 

Having Tejada would have allowed us to hit Fukudome second and use Tejada fifth.
