I know, we say all te time, thatwhen the time comes,The Brewers wont be able to afford to keep Fielder and Braun long term. its probably true, but still, the fact is that if Braun can't figure out how to play defense, in the next few years it might be in their best interest to send him to an AL team for some top shelf pitching prospects?

My guess is Braun will eventually become an adequate defensive left fielder. Still, I wouldn't be too shocked if he's sent to the AL at some point in the next few years. Although, the Brewers might be sent to the AL in the next few years...or is that rumor dead?

I'll give the Yankees 3 years to acquire Braun.

This doesn't make sense as the Brewers hold the rights to him beyond the 3 years. They wouldn't trade him with more than a year left to his rights.

he's going to be a pain in the cubs' ass for the next 5 years or so, even if he's probably going to an al team once he's a free agent.

Braun's such a good athlete that I would be shocked if he doesn't learn to play an adequate leftfield.

But either way, Laporta is going to be ready soon, and that leaves two spots (left and first) for three people. Someone is going to have to go.

i think i read in BP yesterday that LaPorta was playing RF to start the season. braun, hart, laporta would be a lousy-fielding outfield, but damn would you be getting a hell of a lot of offense to make up for it.

Braun is a great athlete, he will be fine in LF.

When Prince starts to lose it (granted, that won't be for awhile) he is going to lose it fast.

Braun would be the last of the three I'd trade.

i'd imagine Laporta would be the first to be traded, he'll be cheap and have the most trade value, and Braun and Fielder should be entrenched as franchise faces by then (if they aren't already)

Unless the Brewers don't think they can afford both Braun and Fielder.

Off topic, but it kinda takes the sting out of seeing that picture when I look at the box score and see Corey hitting .200 with a .235 OBP in your leadoff spot.(only 5 games in, I know) Unless that's what you were going for with it.

Considering how ticked he was with the Brewers this offseason...with the renewal of his contract, and taking into account who the agent for Fielder is...(you know 'em, you love to hate him, he's ARod fave scapegoat), I'm pretty sure Fielder will be dealt before he reaches FA. Which would be perfect for Milwaukee, in the case, they would finally have room for Braun at 1B, and keep LaPorta in LF, and get a BOATLOAD of young talented players for Fielder. In fact, it wouldn't suprise me if Fielder ended up in Detroit (oh..........the sweet irony of it) for a deal that certains around Rick Porcello in 3 yrs.

Edit: Guys FOCUS on the bolded part. I didn't say they would, or will trade Porcello, I'm just saying IT WOULDN'T SURPRISE ME.....Beisdes, they did trade Maybin and Miller for more hitter in Miguel Cabrera (even tho they have pretty dang good offense, before MC), so why would it so unusually for the Tigers to move Porcello? I don't think they will, unless it's for a top end guy like a Brandon Webb, or Erik Bedard. But again it wouldn't surprise me, if the Tigers traded Porcello for Fielder in a couple of yrs.

Once they aren't paying Sheets, they should be able to afford Fielder and Braun.

If the Tigers trade Porcello for more hitting, i'll eat my hat
