Wow, how original. I also love this part of their season preview of the Cubs:

There's one No. 1 and four No. 4s. After ace Carlos Zambrano, the rotation doesn't scare anyone.

Rich Hill and Ted Lilly are No. 4 starters? Are you joking?

Not to mention the writer doesn't even know what he's talking about.

Five outs to go. Bartman. Mark Prior still in the game. Wild pitch. Prior still in the game. Ball through Alex Gonzalez's legs

Ball through Agon's legs? Apparently he was watching a different game 6.

At least he got 2005 right.

Corey Patterson spends much of the season hitting first or second; he hits .215 with a .254 on-base percentage. Neifi Perez spends much of the season hitting first or second; he has a .298 on-base percentage and draws 18 walks in 154 games. Folks, your 2005 Chicago Cubs, managed by the incomparable Dusty Baker!

I really wish we could abort fans like this from our base

Seriously, why can't idiots like that be Reds fans, or something.

Eh, with a nationwide fanbase, you're bound to get some straight from the bottom of the barrel.

I'm sure there are idiot Reds fans who dress like that. Thing is, nobody gives enough of a crap about the Reds to take pictures of those idiots and put them on the internet or show them on TV.

It should also be noted that three ESPN baseball "analysts" (Ravich, Kruk, Olney) have all picked the Cubs to go the World Series this year, based on primarily pitching and just enough hitting. Those are the only three analysts I caught, it's possible Gammons, Kur..., etc are on that wagon as well.

It's probably best not to believe any of them, but I'll take the face analysts over the fringe contributers.

It's actually an informative article that goes year by year, giving details of each season -- something you won't find many other places.

Are we angry because someone wrote a truthful article about a team that doesn't care enough about its fans to put a winner on the field for an entire century? Or should be angry at the team instead?

Just something to think about.

The article isn't uninformed. The research department did a solid job on many of the facts. The issue is that they chose to publish it for "Page 2", which then allows them to insert opinion and bias, and it's here where they are generally wrong (compared to popular opinion), or simply pot-stirring fr the sake of pot-stirring.
