I love how screwy the uniforms are today. Half of the Brewers are wearing the regular ST uniforms and half of them are wearing the alternate minor league ST uniforms. Most of the cubs are wearing the Blue home cap but Reed Johnson is wearing the ST cap.

i just emailed the WGN sports department to ask about HDTV outside of Chicago.

the email was prompted by the Superstation WGN commercial they just aired that said the Cubs/Sox/Bulls were available in HD. i didn't say locally only. it was a Superstation commercial.

anyways, we'll see if they even respond

did the sun-times try to copy the tribune by hiring a cubs beat reporter that is a paul sullivan clone?

I'd be interested to hear what they say. My understanding is, there would need to be an HD version of the channel on the cable/satellite lineup for this to happen. Maybe they can just air the HD games as part of the MLB package though, that would work.

DeRo try running hard and sliding next time.

this post reminds me of the people i sat near when i was at ST. people got sooo worked up about hustle and diving and all this other stuff nobody does in ST. the crowds at ST games really care if their team wins...it's weird.

I love how Hendry won't say the name Brian Roberts. Is that tampering or something?

Technically, yes.

He was clearly jogging instead of running and he got embarrassed. LOL, did you see his face? There's nothing weird about it; I'm not saying he should risk injury in a Spring Training game but that doesn't mean you don't run (hell, he legged out a triple). All he needed to do was run home instead of taking for granted he'd score.

I think it would be best to keep Marshall stretched out as a starter at Iowa and use Piggy in the pen.

This is the obvious conclusion; there's a bullpen opening, and of your two candidates, one is a career starter and the other's done a fine job as a reliever his entire pro career. Whom do you take?

Problem is that I don't often trust the organization to realize the obvious.

EDIT: Ronny's got his deficiencies, but man, when he runs into one it goes a looooong way.
