Honest question. If you had 2 players that had the exact same statistics in their career, but one got caught using a corked bat and the other did not, which one is more likely to use steroids? A caught cheater or the non-cheater?

I would say the caught cheater, but the question is how much more likely?

That's kind of like saying that if there are two identical students, one who steals milk from his hs cafeteria once and one who doesn't, the first is more likely to shoplift later in life. Sure, it's true, but its complete speculation and certainly not proof by any means if both are accused of shoplifting. Circumstantial evidence.

that's like asking "if two people own the same car but one has 2 speeding tickets and the other doesn't, which is more likely to speed?"

I would say the added likelihood of the corker being the roider compared to a non-corker is so small it's insignificant.

I think it's more like asking which one is more likely to mow down a crowd of people on purpose based on the speeding tickets.

Sosa wouldn't grant me an interview in '01 to discuss his obvious cheating. Therefore he's the devil. At every opportunity, we should all pile on and heap scorn upon his name.

In some ways, I wouldn't mind having Sosa on the team but besides addressing the question as to where and just how much playing time he would get-- I think the real question would be, just how much of a distraction would he be to the Cubs. I don't think Sosa was ever considered to be a good teammate or a good clubhouse guy...so for that reason, I think the Cubs should pass on Sam-mee.

That's when Sammy was the man of Chicago though. If he where to come back to the Cubs it would be in a different role and I think you'd see a different Sammy.

I don't think the Cubs would do it, but I think it could be worth while to look into.
