i told you guys, no one cares about the stupid titans.

I care...isn't that enough?

well, they have Jeff Fisher, and for Bear fans, that is some endearment

Exactly.

Bear fans should be secondary Titan fans. It only makes sense.

dont press your luck buddy.....

Worth a try.

The Forte pick surprised me. I thought we may see a QB there, but I can't say I'm disappointed the Bears didn't pick a QB there.

Once they got Williams at 14 and Mendenhall fell past Detroit I wish they would have tried to move up and get him. At least I don't have to watch him 2 games a year destroying the Bears. The Steelers should be a great team for him.

the bears essentially got Mendenhall in Forte.

Forte has more mileage, but didnt cost them alot in picks as would have Mendenhall. Unfortunately, they Bears need much more then RB

I don't think Forte is quite as good as Mendenhall.

Forte was Tulane's only threat of any kind last year and still piled up the yards... there is something to it

in order for the Bears to deal with their issues @ LT and still land Mendenhall, they would have had to give up alot in picks. They simply didnt have that luxury. I liked Mendenhall alot too, and would have loved to have him, but I knew a few months ago when the RMendenhall Hype Machine picked up that the Bears weren't going to land him. my best case scenario was to have RM fall to the Bears in the 2nd. That just didnt happen. the best thing that came about in all of this is the Lions continued to suck and didnt draft him.

But Mendenhall doesn't have the track record that Forte has...Both have pros and cons.

HAHAHA are you serious? Lets compare cometition, and stats. Conference USA vs Big Ten? Seriously Forte is not in the same league as Mendenhall.

Forte was all Tulane had. he caried that team for 3 years. Mendenhall came on and did his thing for one year against good competition. to say he is in a dif league is abit of a stretch

I like mendenhall but only an illinois fan places that much stock in mendenhall who couldnt beat out pierre thomas.

who also plays on sundays and torched the bears for 100 yards rushing and receiving. we're all going to see why thomas and mendenhall shared carries at illinois.

Yea how dare he not be able to beat out a future NFL running back who has had some success on Sundays. Forte will not be an every down back in the NFL like Mendenhall and I guarantee that.

My draft for the Bears so far would've gone like this:

1)Williams (OT) Vandy (originally went with Albert but the comfort level of him at LT won me over) (agreed)

2)Limas Sweed (WR) Texas

3)Jamaal Thomas (HB) Texas

4)Red Bryant (DT) Texas A&M

5)Craig Steltz (S) LSU (agreed)

5)Andre Woodson (QB) UK

7)Mackenzy Bernadeau (G) Bentley

I think you mean Jamal charles...but I agree with most of those. I like Forte, I jsut dont like him @ #2.

Steltz looks better in rd 5, and harrison as the second #3 was fine in place of Bryant, leaving the 4th open for a nice OG or T

I am lurking on the KFFL boards and people are just embarrassing themselves there like they do every year.

News Flash: The Bears probably aren't going to, nor should they, draft for need in the 5-7th rounds. Everyone is wetting their pants over not drafting a guard in the late rounds. Well, they drafted Beekman in 4th last year and people treat him like he isn't even on the team. Most of these late round guys are going to make absolutely no impact. They didn't draft Woodson because he sucks, gang.

People are blowing their tops about drafting a DE in the 7th round? Fire Jerry! We need a guard! Every year it's the same reaction, it's great comedy, I'll tell you that.

Is J Leman not going to get drafted, or did I miss him being selected? I also thought that Kevin Mitchell might get a shot as well. Reda will probably sign as a FA.

We probably won't. Peirre racked up the yards because the Bears were crushing the Saints and were content to let them dump the ball off all game. He's a solid player but he's probably not going to get a whole lot of playing time this year.

Yeah it's pretty ridiculous. These 7th round picks; for the most part we're talking about filler, nothing to get riled up about.

Personally, I didn't mind our 1-2 picks. Not sure about Earl Bennett, because I didn't watch much Vandy football.

I was suprised we went with the TE with Ainge still on the board. I thought he would be a good value pick there (I think it was late 5th round-?)

Again, Angelo's drafts seem to baffle most people. He's had some success, but he definitely doesn't do what the "experts" expect. Not that he should, of course. I'm just saying, I still can't figure him out. Maybe that's a good thing.

We got our LT so our dire need was addressed. Let's see what the kid can do, and hopefully Tait can make the much-needed move back to RT sooner rather than later. That right there would improve our complexion on O plenty.

The TE pick was a bit baffling, but he was a great value at that point. I'm all for anyone who can catch the ball at this point.

Pretty sure this draft spells the end of Manning Jr. and AA in a Bears uniform. That is a good thing.

I think the Bears are going to look to pick up a OG after June cuts, assuming they don't think Beekman can handle it.

It's interesting. I just didn't hear much of anything about Beekman all last year. I guess no news can be bad news.

A makeover @ S is welcome, IMO. Angelo has a decent track record of picking up mid-to-late rounders who can play safety in this league.

Mario Urrutia drafted here in the 7th. Another possession WR.

Edit: Nevermind. That was Cincy's pick.

Bears selected Kirk Barton (OT, Ohio State)
