So is the amazing Adam Everett out of a job at Short or is Tejada moving to 3b?

Adam Everett should have been out of the job even without the Tejada trade.

adam everett is leaps and bounds ahead of theriot.

hes an average shortstop. yes average, not bad.

basically who is the taller midget? They are both utter garbage.

I'd like to know on what planet Everett is considered an average SS?

No reason to be rude.

He was mearly stating his view that he thinks they are both garbage. There is no reason for him to take your opinion as fact.

-15 hitters (for a SS) + 25 defense = +10 SS?

not rocket science

go read my comments in other threads. i am not about to explain it for the the 10th time.

Here's one reason why:

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2609699

Some of baseball's biggest stars responded with denials and denunciations Sunday following a Los Angeles Times report in which former pitcher Jason Grimsley accused five players of using performance-enhancing drugs, according to a federal agent's affidavit. The other players cited were Baltimore teammates Brian Roberts and Jay Gibbons.

Gibbons already went down, and maybe Tejada will be on the Mitchell report.

Maybe? I think it's the lock of the century. I'm not that interested in post-juice Tejada. I think he's definitely trending downward.

The one where he's the best defensive shortstop on the planet by a wide margin.

He's one of the few whose glove actually covers his bat.

Everett is considered to be the only SS who is so far ahead defensively that it makes up for his bat. If I remember right, he's been +25 to +35 runs in some years.

And how about a post-juice Roberts? Stay away Cubs.

I don't care if he is re-incarnation of Ozzie Smith, not glove should make up for a bat that bad.

oh it does. it's not that hard to understand that a poor offensive guy can have a positive net impact if his glove is good enough.

Luke Scott is of course Houston's Matt Murton.

I think it's fair to say that Scott is a good bit better than Murton. He's got an .882 OPS so far in the majors, and he's shown a lot more power than Murton has.

There is no way that someone who has not had an OBP above 290 since 2004 should be a regular on a major league team, i don't care how good his glove is.

Everett's a historically great defensive SS.

If there was a way we could get Bedard and Roberts without giving up Hill (yeah I know, longshot with Angelos) I wouldn't mind having Roberts on the team replacing Derosa.

I don't think that's a bad deal for a team that had all the pressure on them to get rid of an unhappy player. Patton and Scott gives them a serviceable OF and a SP who could be a good #2-3. Tejada isn't a special player anymore.
